Change Up Support Services

Putting a Face to Care

Guy Pellerine, B. SC. HK
Guy is the founder of “Change Up Support Services” (C.U.S.S) who offers specialized behavioral support services and placement options to vulnerable populations in the Atlantic Provinces. He is also the father of two beautiful girls- Noelle and Willow and husband to his wonderful wife, Holly.
Prior to devoting his work full time to C.U.S.S, he worked for various provincial Services Providers including Riverview Home Corporation and Colchester Residential Services Society. His work has been directly involved with the Department of Community Services in the Child Youth and Family Services, and Disability Support Programs. Working across all levels of support with “at risk” youth, ranging from Semi-Independent placement options to working in a Secure Care facility. He was part of the provincial team tasked with developing and opening the provinces Residential Treatment Facility as part of the Wood Street Center in Truro, Nova Scotia. This group was nominated for an Ideal Minister’s award. His work has included developing a transitional program for youth entering adulthood, a wide range of behavioral support programs to assist individuals in various aspects of life and setting up both licensed and emergency placements.
He has dedicated his work to supporting the most vulnerable and challenging individuals in the province of Nova Scotia. Behavior is used as a communication tool and when we only look to address the behavior in the moment and not search for the underlying concern, the mark is going to be missed repeatedly.
Guy is also known for his involvement in sport and brings a team first attitude. He looks to motivate those around him to excel to new levels. He has played in five Canadian Men’s Baseball Championships and coordinated the development of a Men’s over 35 provincial team who won the 2018 Canadian National Championship.
Always up for a challenge and never settling for the status quo, his work is dedicated to offering exceptional services and supports to those individuals requiring an advocate and navigator to have more than a service provided. Change-Up offers a life.
We will work with individuals to uncomplicate the complicated and get back to giving people control of their own life. We will be here to assist as needed when the roads get bumpy, or the load too heavy to hold alone.

Darson Murphy
Born and raised in Lake O’Law, Cape Breton, Darson moved to Truro, NS and commenced a career spanning two decades working with the most vulnerable and challenging individuals in the province. His past work includes “Place of Safety” when the service was just beginning to emerge in the province. He moved on to working for Colchester Residential Services Society in Truro including supervising/managing multiple homes and ILS placements.
Darson has worked with many individuals who were experiencing challenging behaviors in his career. He understands that the individual is trying to communicate which could be related to the environment or the current approach being utilized. Illness and traumatic events can cause such disruptive behavior which can become a coping strategy. Building healthy relationships and being on the same level is an invaluable means of support. This led Darson to become a certified MANDT instructor for Colchester Residential Services.
Most recently, Darson has been the Facility Manager for Riverview Home Corporation. He is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the facilities infrastructure. This includes an Adult Residential Center, eight group homes, a fleet of vehicles, and many systems/appliances/mechanisms. He is involved with the Occupational Health and Safety Committee and oversees the Emergency Measures and Fire Plans for all facilities.
A husband and father of three, he enjoys coaching baseball and travelling throughout Nova Scotia for athletics. Through his work and involvement in sport, Darson had made many valuable and important relationships to support his latest business venture.
